Loose dogs caused problems............

Yesterday I was working out in the field, and suddenly there was a big dog behind me. Scared me.......but it was friendly. A bit too friendly and just about knocked me over. I could see by the tag on it's collar it was the neighbor's (lives back through the woods.........drives his motocross cycle through the woods, and we complained, so we're not real friendly). Anyhow, the dog went away.

Tonight I was fixing dinner and saw that dog and another one (even bigger) right outside (probably at least 100# or more). I went out to shoo them away and they barreled towards me. The red one was pushing hard on me and rolling around on the ground around me. I yelled at them, but it only made them more energized. I went inside and my old dog saw them and went bonkers. They saw my dog and started lunging at her at the window. I tried to call the owner, but it said his voice mail was full. When DH got home, they tried to push their way through the door when he came in. It was all very crazy and upsetting. I was pissed. I called 911. Of course they were gone by the time the deputy got here. He was going to talk to the owner. He said that if it happens again, I should take a picture with something of ours in the background, to prove they were here. I didn't even think of that. I had my hands so full just trying to control my own dog.

This was very upsetting. I can't imagine being mauled by dogs! They were so out of control and big. I just couldn't believe they were trying to get into the house. DH had one of the dog's head pinned between his leg and the door frame to keep it from rushing in.

It REALLY ticks me off when people out here in the country think this is okay to do.
