Remember me talking about the big boss for my office who made my life (and a lot of other people's, it seems) hell for months on end at work? Well, karma bites! He was bounced out on his head this morning! When we were heading to the conference room for a meeting no one knew what about, my manager told me to appear unemotional. I knew then big boss was a goner!
New big boss is my wonderful former manager (who urged me to go for my prized professional certification). She'd still been with the company, but in a different role. But we still worked closely with her.
The CEO (based out of my city, but used to work in the same office) said he knew what had been going on and had been trying to get the fired guy straightened out for close to a year. When CEO saw me dragging my butt back to my desk from the copier about 7 tonight, he told me to go home, regardless of what was on my desk. He know exactly how much we've been working.
The logistics manager did quit a while back, but they've been in such a bind that he agreed to stay on through the end of next week (about 6 weeks since he gave notice).
The one coworker who took all the sick time I mentioned earlier in the summer? She resigned and her last day was Friday. However, we discovered this afternoon that she had deleted all the pricing spreadsheets for one customer on a shared drive used by the entire company. This affects a couple of other offices, not just mine. And she conveniently deleted them from her email (when she sent them to the customer) before she left. It's month end, customer is screaming for their invoices, and we can't send them as we don't know what to charge them! >:( We're going to look in the fired guy's email as he was the one that did the pricing sheets and sent them to the offices.
We're still looking for two people for my department. We need two someones experienced who are fully capable of stepping into the positions, with just training on our industry-specific software and our specific procedures. Those people are hard to find.
