fructose intolerance

I can't recall if I had figured this out before I took my break, but I figured out through trial and error that I am fructose intolerant. I went to the dietician even to clarify what is okay to eat. I can eat melons and berries so that is better than the zero fruit I was on for awhile. Most of what it affects are desserts and drinks. Natural fructose is bad and high fructose corn syrup is horrible. Last time I accidentally got exposed was some whipped cream. It took very little to make me sick. There are now breads listed as no HFCS and other foods, although I have eaten some bread and been okay. I even found ketchup that wasn't from the health food store. I am going to Iowa for Thanksgiving and my family has been really good about me asking for ingredients and not taking offense.

I am still refining, I need to watch onions, avocados and they say grapes are fine but grapes and raisins are one of my worst (that also means wine). I do have to say that anyone with a food intolerance or allergy really does not want to be a pain. I think in this forum it is different but there are times I want to be flexible and I really can't. I raised a peanut allergic child and a moderate lactose issue child so I hope attitudes towards food issues are changing. I was that weird mom who wouldn't let her children eat with other people.

Okay am I the only one on the planet with this one?
